Station 16 – ESTERO BAY

Estero Bay Station 16 is located in the town of Cayucos. The station is staffed year-round by one fire captain and one fire apparatus engineer. Station 16 protects and serves a population of 3,000 residents, providing high-quality service with two fire apparatus. One Type 1 Spartan fire engine holds 500 gallons of water and has a pump capacity of 1,500 gallons per minute (GPM). All equipment on Engine 16 is designed to provide fire, EMS, HazMat, rescue, and surf rescue responses, therefore protecting and safeguarding the community. The other is a Type 6 Squad Ford F-550 XLT 4-wheel drive response vehicle, which holds 190 gallons of water and has a pump capacity of 150 gallons per minute (GPM). All equipment on Squad 16 is designed to respond to wildland fire, EMS, rescue, and surf rescues within the community. 
 
Estero Bay Station 16 protects Cayucos and eight miles of coastline between Cambria and Morro Bay. This also includes the outlying areas of Highway 46 East and Highway 41 East, Cayucos Pier, Coastal Bluffs, and Rolling Hills. The community infrastructure, businesses, and recreational areas make Cayucos a unique part of the Central Coast.
