Station 52 - MERIDIAN
Located in the heart of Paso Robles wine country, Meridian Fire Station 52 was constructed by the County of San Luis Obispo to meet the growing demand for fire and emergency services in the rural Paso Robles region. Strategically positioned to serve a rapidly developing area, Station 52 operates an ICS Type I fire engine staffed by two Company Officers, providing emergency response and operational support throughout its service area.
Given the concentration of wineries, agricultural operations, and industrial facilities within its jurisdiction, Station 52 plays a critical role in the county’s hazardous materials response system. Personnel assigned to the station are responsible for responding to hazardous materials incidents, coordinating and supporting ongoing training for Hazardous Materials Team members from cooperating agencies throughout the county, and maintaining the multi-gas detection equipment utilized by the County Fire Department.
Station 52 is also home to HazMat 1, the county’s primary hazardous materials response unit. This specialized resource provides technical expertise, advanced monitoring equipment, and emergency response capabilities for incidents involving hazardous substances, helping to protect the public, first responders, and the environment throughout San Luis Obispo County.
