Station 50 – CRESTON
Creston Fire Station 50 is located in the community of Creston, east of the City of Atascadero. Owned and operated by the County of San Luis Obispo, Station 50 provides fire protection and emergency services to a largely rural response area while serving as a key resource within the county’s fire protection system.
The station operates an ICS Type I fire engine staffed by a Fire Captain and a Fire Apparatus Engineer, delivering all-risk emergency response services to the community and surrounding areas. Station 50 is further supported by a dedicated team of 15 Paid Call Firefighters (PCFs), who respond to incidents through a radio paging system and provide valuable operational support during emergencies.
Station 50 is also home to Water Tender 50, an ICS Type I water tender that provides critical water supply support for structure fires, wildland incidents, and extended emergency operations in areas where hydrant systems may be limited or unavailable.
In addition to its frontline response responsibilities, Station 50 serves as the headquarters for Battalion 5 and is home to Battalion Chief 3415. From this location, battalion leadership oversees emergency response operations, personnel, and fire protection activities throughout the battalion, ensuring coordinated and effective service delivery across the region.
