Station 11 – Cayucos

Cayucos Fire Station 11 is one of the most uniquely situated fire stations in California, offering panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean while serving a diverse and demanding response area along the North Coast of San Luis Obispo County. The station’s strategic location provides rapid access to coastal communities, recreational areas, and one of the region’s most heavily traveled stretches of Highway 1.

Station 11 responds to a wide range of emergencies, including cliff rescues within Montana de Oro State Park, ocean and surf rescues along the coastline from Morro Bay to Cambria, vehicle accidents, structure and wildland fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials incidents. The variety of incidents encountered requires personnel to maintain proficiency across multiple disciplines and operate effectively in challenging coastal and remote environments.

The station is staffed 24 hours a day with a minimum of one Fire Captain and two Firefighter I personnel. During peak fire season, additional seasonal staffing enhances response capabilities and supports increased emergency activity throughout the region.

Through its strategic coastal location, highly trained personnel, and all-risk response capabilities, Cayucos Fire Station 11 plays a critical role in protecting residents, visitors, and the natural resources that make the Central Coast a unique and valued destination.
