Station 10 – cambria
Cambria Fire Station 10 operates through a partnership between CAL FIRE and the County of San Luis Obispo, providing year-round fire protection, fire prevention, rescue, and emergency medical services to the communities of the North Coast. Serving both residents and the large number of visitors drawn to the area each year, Station 10 plays a critical role in protecting one of the county’s most scenic and geographically diverse regions.
Personnel assigned to Station 10 are specially trained in a variety of disciplines, including cliff rescue, ocean rescue, structural firefighting, wildland firefighting, and emergency medical response. These capabilities allow the station to effectively respond to the unique challenges presented by the North Coast’s rugged terrain, remote locations, and coastal environment.
Station 10’s response area encompasses portions of the Highway 1 and Highway 46 West corridors, where steep terrain, coastal cliffs, and limited access routes can create complex emergency situations. In addition to its primary response responsibilities, Station 10 works closely with the Cambria Community Services District and California State Parks, including the Hearst Castle area, to provide coordinated emergency response and mutual aid throughout the region.
Through its specialized training, regional partnerships, and strategic location, Cambria Fire Station 10 serves as a vital public safety resource for the residents, visitors, and natural resources of San Luis Obispo County’s North Coast.
