Camp Cinder mission statement: 
Our mission is to introduce young women to the fire service by providing hands on experience in a positive, team building environment, encouraging and supporting self confidence and a can do work ethic.   
 

Camp Cinder is a 4 day 3 night fire camp for girls ages 16-18 years old.  The camp is being held This Summer (TBA) in San Luis Obispo.  The camp is providing all meals, lodging and transportation.  The campers will learn and experience the following:  Hose handling, using a self contained breathing apparatus, wildland hoselays, fire extinguisher use, structure fire search and rescue, hands only CPR, and ocean rescue training.  At the end of each day the campers will participate in fun summer camp activities like pizza and a movie night, barbeque at the beach and skit night.



To qualify these young campers need to:
be covered in medical insurance
be in good physical condition
be 16-18 years old
complete a 500 word essay
have a positive attitude
to agree to follow the rules and participate in all activities

 The application process will take place in the spring of 2014 and the 18 campers will be selected from high schools in San Luis Obispo county.  Interested applicants need to fill out the application and submit a 500 word essay.
